Welcome to the Neighbourhood

Simon McGoram

Bar/Front of house

Simon loves his booze. In fact since he started humbly pouring pints in alehouses in the UK almost 14 years ago he's become a bit of a booze whisperer. Simon used to run the drinks program at Sydney's favourite Argentinean eatery Porteno, he's worked as a brand ambassador for the world's largest drinks company Diageo, he has his own drinks column on Fairfax's nationally syndicated Executive Style website and he used to be the editor of Australia's leading bar trade title Australian Bartender. If there is something this guy doesn't know about booze it ain't worth knowing. And you know what? Despite being a ardent All Blacks supporter he's a pretty stand up guy.

Joshua Evans

Joshie knows his way around the pans - he's been cooking for over a decade. As Bondi as they come - when he's not in a PT session he's dreaming creative dishes for his menu that draws on experience he garnered under the tutelage of Brent Mills at Anthony Kaplan from Bondi's Corner House and Panama House. His menu is eclectic - not unlike the chef himself - and draws on inspiration his childhood (that's his family jaffle-iron over his shoulder) as well as from the US East Coast and southern states. Not to get too 'dude-food' on it though Joshie keeps a firm eye on seasonal produce and modern Australian cuisine. He's one of only two Manly Sea Eagles supporters in Bondi, but we forgive him as he sure can cook.

Bondi Radio

Neighbourhood dining at its finest.

You know what life is too short for? Boring booze. And that’s the mantra of the bar at Neighbourhood. We’ve gone for a wine list, beer and cocktail offering that is left-of- centre without it all being juice for snobbs.

The cocktail list is kept fresh- being only a dozen strong – with seasonal options offering you the best drinking for right now.

The wine we’ve selected is eminently drinkable on it’s own or with food and focuses on small and up and coming Australian producers with a splash of Italian, American and Argentinean to boot. We’ve got bio-dynamic and organic wines, but we’ve chosen our drops because they taste great – not because they get a hipster tick of approval.

Come in for a gander and stay for a glass – we won’t look at you funny if your pronunciation is off – we’ll just get you a tasty beverage in hand tout suite.

bondi radio broadcasts 24 hours a day, giving you a great variety of music covering Funk & Soul, light Indie rock, beach vibe, Indie dance, Nu Disco, Soulful House, Deep House, and much more.
We also have our Monday nights Live music in the newly refurbished Cabin, this is where local singer songwriters come and play there new songs and network with like minded people that often end up jamming together at the end of the night. Click here to listen live.
